De La Cruz® 100% Pure Expeller-Pressed Avocado Oil 2 FL. OZ. (59 mL)

$6.99

De La Cruz 100% Pure and Natural Avocado Oil is expeller-pressed from the flesh of Avocado fruits.

Avocado oil is high in oleic and palmitic acids, essential fatty acids that help to build the skin’s natural oil barrier! It’s a unique oil because it helps the skin to retain water, meaning smooth, supple and moisturized skin. This oil works well for most people and doesn’t clog pores.

Besides a skin moisturizer, we also love to use Avocado oil for the hair and scalp as a nourishing treatment. It’s a light oil so it doesn’t weigh hair down.

FAQ
What's the best way to store my oil?

We recommend you store the product at room temperature, with the cap tightly closed. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources. These measures will help extend the quality of the oil.

What is the expiration date?

Although we don't put an expiration date on most of our carrier oils, they typically remain usable for topical use for at least 2-3 years after bottling, unless stated otherwise. See our storage recommendations to maximize quality of the oil.

Can the oil go rancid?

Carrier oils may become rancid gradually as time goes on. The time frame for rancidity can vary depending on the type of oil and storage conditions, especially temperature and light. If the oil develops an unpleasant odor, discard and do not use.

How is your oil made?

The skin and stone are first separated from the ripe avocado fruit before starting the oil extraction. Then the oil is expeller-pressed, meaning that a mechanical press physically compresses the fruit causing the crude oil to run. This method of extraction is a greener and more traditional way of making oil because it doesn't use any chemical additives (solvents), meaning no chemical residue.

Is the oil refined?

Yes. Although our oils are intended for cosmetic uses on skin, hair or nails, some of our oils are fit for human consumption and thus require a refining process to remove impurities such as free-fatty acids, gums, waxes and metal ions. These impurities affect the quality of the oil. Unrefined Avocado oil has a stronger smell and does not stay fresh as long as the refined product.

Can the oil be heated?

We do not recommend you heat carrier oils unless it's necessary for specific applications. The oxidation or rancidity of the carrier oil will speed up due to high temperature.

Can the oil be ingested?

Although some of our carrier oils are food grade and fit for human consumption, they are intended for cosmetic use on skin, hair or nails. They therefore do not have nutrition facts on the labels and may not have an expiration date. We recommend you do not ingest the oils or cook with them.

What happens if I don't replace the cap on the bottle?

When carrier oils remain open without the cap, oxidation will occur more quickly.

Is there any added fragrance?

No.
