De La Cruz 100% Pure and Natural Castor Oil is expeller-pressed from the bean of the castor plant grown and nurtured in India.
Castor Oil has a unique composition as it’s high in ricinoleic acid. It retains moisture by preventing water loss through the outer layer of the skin. Castor oil is a go-to treatment for nourishing the hair but is also well known as a natural laxative.

Castor Oil is a thick oil, so we suggest to mix a few drops with another carrier oil such as our De La Cruz Avocado Oil before putting on your face.
For the body, whip a few drops with our De La Cruz Shea Butter if you need to give an extra moisture blast to dry skin.
Apply the treatment on your skin and leave it on for a few minutes or overnight, depending on your moisture needs.
Use a clean wet cloth to remove the oil.
Apply a few drops of the oil on your scalp, roots and your ends. We suggest to apply on damp hair rather than dry or wet hair for better absorption.
If you have some time and want to enjoy maximum benefits of the oil, leave your treatment on for several hours or even overnight. You can wrap your hair in a towel if you don't want the oil to get sticky on your pillow or clothes. It will also help to better lock in moisture.
Removing the Castor oil can be difficult as it is a thick oil. Pro-Tip: in the shower, massage your scalp with conditioner to help remove the oil and then shampoo as usual.
A simple step for your chapped lips: rub a small amount of Castor oil on your lips and let it soak in for a few seconds before applying your favorite lip balm

We recommend you store the product at room temperature, with the cap tightly closed. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources. These measures will help extend the quality of the oil.
Castor oil is highly stable, and the expiration date is 3 years after bottling. See our storage recommendations to maximize quality of the oil.
Although Castor oil is highly stable it may become rancid gradually, but not before the expiration date. After the expiration date, the time frame for rancidity can vary depending on storage conditions, especially temperature and light. Do not use the oil internally for laxative use after the expiration date.
The oil is expeller-pressed, meaning a mechanical press physically compresses the Castor seeds, causing the crude oil to run. This method of extraction is a greener and more traditional way of making oil because it doesn't use any chemical additives (solvents), meaning no chemical residue.
Yes. Although our oils are intended for cosmetic uses on skin, hair or nails, some of our oils are fit for human consumption and thus require a refining process to remove impurities such as free-fatty acids, gums, waxes and metal ions. These impurities affect the quality of the oil.
It means we comply with the purity and quality standards set by the United States Pharmacopeia Convention (USP), a nonprofit scientific organization. They develop strict standards that ensure stability, safety, and efficacy of the chemical(s) used in medicines and other articles. For more information on the U.S Pharmacopeia Convention, please visit: https://www.usp.org/about
We do not recommend you heat carrier oils unless it's necessary for specific applications. The oxidation or rancidity of the carrier oil will speed up due to high temperature.
Yes. Castor oil is an effective laxative used for occasional constipation. See drug facts for detailed directions and warnings before use.
Although Castor oil is among the most stable carrier oils, applying and tightening the cap after use will ensure extended freshness.
