How To Use

Skin

• Dilute with water as pure Vegetable Glycerin is quite thick. Apply to body or face once or twice daily.

• Adding some to a warm water bath can enhance the moisture level of the skin.

Hair & Scalp

• Add a few drops to your conditioner for an extra moisture blast.

Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. Do not use if plastic seal around cap is missing or broken.

Product FAQ

We recommend you store the product at room temperature, with the cap tightly closed. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources. These measures will help extend the quality of the product.

Vegetable Glycerin is highly stable, and the product will be best up to 3 years after the manufacturing date. See our storage recommendations to maximize quality of the oil.

Pure Glycerin is stable and cannot go easily rancid. The storage conditions are important though. The container must be kept sealed at room temperature because Glycerin can easily absorb water from moisture in the air. If there is more water in the bottle, there is more opportunity for bacteria to proliferate.

Vegetable Glycerin is made by steam hydrolysis of fatty acids derived from plant-based materials at high temperature. The split fatty acids are pre-concentrated through water evaporation to obtain crude glycerin, which then is further refined to achieve high purity.

Although some of our carrier liquids are food grade and fit for human consumption, they are intended for cosmetic use on skin, hair or nails. They therefore do not have nutrition facts on the labels and may not have an expiration date. We recommend you do not ingest the oils or cook with them.

We do not recommend you heat Glycerin unless it's necessary for specific applications. The oxidation or rancidity rate will accelerate due to high temperature.

This review is for both the product and customer service.
The product (veg glycerin) seems pretty decent. We are going to use a tsp in a batch of homemade ice cream, and also some to make homemade soap. While I can’t properly say yet how they will have turned out, I don’t foresee any problems.
Re: customer service – I called to ask if this product was food grade (I figured it would say on the bottle if it was, but I called the 800 number to find out for sure). The woman who answered the phone was not quite rude, but certainly not helpful or cheerful either. She repeated (as if I didn’t hear her the first time) that whatever was on the bottle is the information I should go by, and when I tried to tell her that I looked up glycerin online to see if it is generally safe to use in food. She said that I should just go by whatever I find online. That is neither helpful nor knowledgeable customer service. When I went to the website here to see what it said about the vegetable glycerin, it does indeed say food grade, which should both be on the bottle, and should be on some paperwork that the customer service keeps on hand for inquiring customers. Is that too much to ask?
